More film...
Sunday, January 18, 2009 1:34 AM

Finally got to develop more films. After painstakingly scanning the films, taking care to remove dust, I'm loving how the results turn out. The Bessa r3a works like a charm so far though it's pretty hard to focus with the small focus window. I've gotten more films again with them readily available at Wing Shing, reala, provia, natura, exciting!

Here’s the scans:

Scans
Thursday, December 25, 2008 1:31 PM

Managed to find a pretty decent lab to develop the film I shot using the om-2n. Can say I’m pretty pleased with the results of the film process so far. Film does have it’s advantages! It’s really forgiving on details when you overexpose it to cater for the shadows. Will be trying different types of film to find one that I really like. I still have a roll of velvia waiting. :)

The following images are shot with the om-2n, using Fuji 400proH, developed at ColorSix  lab at Lan Kwai Fong and scanned using Canon Canoscan 8800F at 4800 dpi and resized in Photoshop.

Finally received my e-bay purchase of the Olympus om-2n. I have been drooling over this 35mm SLR for the longest time. Finally convinced myself to get one from ebay. Received it today and I can say it’s absolutely gorgeous!!! More updates on the next post, pictures of it for now. Time to shoot some film!! Have the velvia and 400proH ready. Very excited. Going to Disneyland with wifey tomorrow. Going to bring this baby out for a walk.

Catching up
Monday, December 1, 2008 1:20 AM

Haven’t been posting for a really long time. Went to Canon showroom here in Hongkong to check out the 5D mk II, but stupid me forgot to bring along a cf card so I couldnt test the video function. Will be back there again soon. The showroom is really nice. Walking in makes me feel like I’m in Canon disneyland. They have the 200mm f2 available for you to test it out too!

Back in HK
Monday, November 10, 2008 1:08 AM

We’re back in Hong Kong. The guppies are all fine surprisingly. Really hardy fellas!

The past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement, anxiety and joy. The experience of preparing for the wedding, meeting up with the brothers, planning the surprise with Edwin, experiencing the wedding as the groom, relaxing at the oriental spa, catching Russel Peters, forgoing the Bali honeymoon, picking up wakeboarding, meeting up with buddies and friends more often than when we were living in Spore. It was a really busy 2 weeks but at the end of it all, we had so much fun that we cant bear to come back to Hong Kong.

Tomorrow will be back to work. Not really in the mood. Haha.

Following are a couple of pictures from the past 2 weeks.

Mission Accomplished
Tuesday, November 4, 2008 1:59 AM

Finally, all the preparation, energy and help from everyone, our wedding banquet was held in Mandarin Oriental successfully with moments I will never forget in my life, which forever bring a smile to my face whenever I think of them. It is through these few days that I re-discovered the friendships around me, reminding me that I have to treasure them.

Decided not to go to Bali due to the situation there and stay back in Spore for the rest of the week. A lil disappointed but guess we can still spend some quality time back in Spore. Will be back to Hong Kong on the 9th with lots of work and exam preparation waiting for me back there. I must re-charge myself these few days to face all that. Jia you! For now I am just glad to be happily married. :)

Someone close recommended this book to read which is said to have motivated several of his investment decisions. Guess I’ll take a look too!
